Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie to build a dissident wing within and beyond MAGA, and is reportedly eyeing a 2028 presidential bid that Trump ally Laura Loomer described as follows: “He’s a lunatic! Tucker wants to hijack the GOP in 2026 and 2028.”
Carlson has spent the past six months building what Raw Story describes as a “dissident wing” within the MAGA coalition, specifically over the Iran war and Epstein. He condemned Operation Epic Fury on February 28 as “absolutely disgusting and evil” in an interview with Jon Karl. He told Columbia Journalism Review he would “help build a third party.” He apologized to supporters in April for “misled” them into voting for Trump. Greene, who resigned from Congress after a bitter split with Trump over broken campaign promises, posted: “We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all.” MTG and Carlson are now jointly positioning themselves as the authentic America First alternative.
The Epstein invocation is the most pointed element of the 10-point manifesto. Carlson argued, per HuffPost, that “the law did not apply” to Epstein and that Trump, as a former Epstein associate, belongs to the same elite class. This is the accusation being made by a man who spent years as Trump’s most prominent media supporter, using the specific name that Trump has consistently refused to fully address, in a manifesto that reportedly signals a 2028 presidential candidacy.
